And to the millions of Republican voters who either stayed home or voted for Biden rather than give their approval to the toxic Orange Pusbag.

No sane company wants to be associated with Trump now. Even Fox News is sidling away.

You let Trump post and then he starts in with his Dominion conspiracy crap, Twitter gets sued for Billions of dollars. You can run Twitter with rules and guidelines or Twitter can become the single largest employer of attorneys in the US as someone is going to have to go over each post and make the determination the content is lawful.

TDS is still alive with the lying liberal set. Mark always posts things that have not happened as if they have happened. After time passes, his tales become exposed and then you don't hear from him again until he returns with another made up scenario, like today. He should stick to posting about his "ladies" - at least those tales are somewhat entertaining, though doubtful.

I just spent five glorious days in Vegas with my lady. I am waiting at the airport to depart for home now incredibly happy.

Oh come on.  You know section 230 amended the communications act of 1934 to provide immunity for web platforms against being sued for 3rd party content.

"No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider."

Used to be a time when honorable Democrats would (with a very few exceptions) always defend free speech over censorship.  They weren't afraid of defending their ideas in the town square and would also defend anyone's right to give an opinion regardless of how wrong that opinion might be.

Used to be a time when Democrats would hail a company deciding to become more transparent by the publishing alogrithms used to promote, demote or restrict content.

Not so much anymore. Now they clutch their pearls in fear of people being exposed to the words of those they disagree with.  This whole Musk takeover is really exposing the new Mccarthyites for what they really are.

Wow, Charles, you don't understand that the basic concept of free speech doesn't apply to content produced by a private company for public consumption? In other words, such a company can decide for itself what content to exclude and what to include? So Twitter can decide whether or not to let the Orange Pusbag post, without violating his or anyone else's rights.

Musk, a much, much smarter man than you, understands that perfectly well. His widdle remark about free speech is just political theater, and if he gets the "base" to climb on board his bogus "free speech" crusade (as you have apparently been duped into doing), then Twitter's stock price won't fall after he Trumpifies the company. That's it. That's the whole game.

And Charles my dear...as far as which side is doing more to restrict free speech, you must not have had access to actual news sources in the last several months. Or you've just stuck your head in the Fox News sand.

And Lewis you still have your head stuck up CNN and MSNBC's "sand".

It is you who is confused about the 'basic concept' of free speech.  You are confusing a 'basic concept' with our constitutional rights under the first amendment.  The basic concept of free speech opposes censorship and encourages the free discussion of ideas...even wrong or hateful ones.  This used to be a position of many liberal democrats and libertarians.  Not so much Democrats now.

Of course Twitter can decide who they can censor.  Where did I say otherwise?  I believe Musk has it right in calling Twitter the new Town Square and allowing all opinions to be debated but I can see that scares people like Kevin...Just like those dirty Commies scared Joe McCarthy....so he tried to cancel them.  Some folks never learn.

You know Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas is actually owned by the Casinos.  They tried on several occasions to ban the various Jesus Freaks and Street Performers and Panhandlers.  Even though this is private property, it's been held by the courts a 'Public Square' and ruled that Americans maintain their right to free speech there...go figure.  I wouldn't have a problem with those rights extending to the digital public square and the major social media platforms.  I think it would be a great public good, but then again, I really support freedom of speech instead of giving it lip service.

Yeah, sure, Charles. You support free speech for conservitards but are just swell with Florida prosecuting teachers for saying the word "gay."

You're correct in that the concept of free speech exists separately from any law safeguarding it. That's why I said that the CONCEPT (not the law) doesn't apply to content on a privately owned website such as Twitfool.

And by the way, Fremont Street is a PUBLIC space and is NOT owned by the casinos.

I never said that I opposed Twitter allowing or disallowing content. Don't pull the standard cowardly little conservitard trick of putting words in my mouth. What I actually said was that Twitter's content isn't a matter of free speech and that Musk's framing it as such is bogus.
