Elon Musk says millions in Social Security database are between ages of 100 and 159

"Akshually", AI can tell you how legacy code works, especially COBOL.  It can do a lot of things as well as find bugs, optimize code of many flavors and generate documentation.  It can rewrite COBOL to modern languages.

Code is code, its just syntax and logic. It's not a banana.

Good to hear you'd like things cleaned up.  But doing a study of all the grift and levels of bs in government would take generations.  Sometimes taking a meat cleaver and seeing what falls out works best...this also applies to code, oddly enough.  Break it down, create test cases and clean out the pipes, as its really just plumbing in the end.

Using your analogy, fixing a software error a la Elon would be to detonate a nuclear device inside the building where the offending computer is housed. There would indeed be no more errors...at that location, at least.

But your analogy is fundamentally nutso because if your code isn't working, you don't wipe out the entire system, reformat all your data banks, destroy the employee lounge, and start over from the ground up. You try to pinpoint the error and fix THAT. The vast majority of the system is still functional and should remain.

So why is the wise Elon taking the slash-and-burn approach, which is fundamentally counterproductive? Because he doesn't give one iota of a flying fuck about cost-saving or "efficiency." He's following the wishes of his Turd-bro to create as much chaos as possible.

That's ALL that's going on here. Deliberate chaos. Part of the Turd's strategy to mask all the other horrid, illegal shit he's doing.
