Elon tries to kill Trump

Kevin believes that balancing the budget is stupid.  Just a couple of years ago he told us so...because the interest on our debt is inconsequential.

There are two ways to balance the budget. One is to increase revenue; the other is to decrease spending. However, if the cost of carrying interest on debt is less than the benefit gained, then it's counterproductive to balance the budget. I never said that interest was "inconsequential"--I said that it was worth the expense. Did you know, Boiler, that virtually all corporations carry debt and pay interest? Did you know that every country in the world carries debt and pays interest?

I thought you didn't.

"Balance the budget" has been a holy bleat in the mouths of conservatives, even when Trump slashed taxes for corporations and the rich and created a YUGE budget deficit.

So ya wanna balance the budget, Boilerboob? Ask Trump to return corporate and wealthy taxation to 2016 levels. That alone would do it.

Liberals won't buy 'em because a terrorist put a bomb in one?  That sounds about right for today's American Liberal.

What PJ actually said is that NO ONE is buying them because they're junk. That was true long before today's incident.

You sound confused. "Liberals won't buy them" because of something that only happened a few hours ago? Are you mixing up past and present now?

Boiler, your dementia signs are beginning to worry me.

Now for the facts. It was a rented Tesla that video shows was driving past the valet for a while.

It exploded in front of the hotel due to gas tanks and fireworks in the trunk

And what was the driver doing with "fireworks"? New Year's Eve was already over.

This definitely looks like Elon hired somebody to take out Trump so he could become emperor. Elon's about as bright as you are, stupid Tom.

Is your policy sustainable?  The answer is hell no.  Is simple math really that daunting to you?

Truth be told the Cybertruck is a POS.     ANd thats not a knock on Musk or his company.

I dont like Musk's politics but I dont take that into account with his business.

I'd buy a Tesla Model 3 if the price came down and mileage went up.    Both of those things are on track in the coming years.  The cybertruck by all objective reviews is just a vanity vehicle that is not practical in any sense - and its loaded with reliability issues.    Its a toy for millionaires.

Since the policy you refer to has in fact been sustained for decades, the answer is "hell, yes." The deficit has gotten larger, but so has the GDP. Like I said, Boiler, your thinking is too simplistic. Debt is not inherently bad, especially if you repay it down the road with cheaper dollars.

Math exercise for you, Boiler. Put on your thinking cap. Debt carrying 4% interest during a period of 3% inflation. What is the actual cost of that debt?
