These religious nutballs have always been rabidly and almost completely for Trump. A recent NPR segment explored this in depth. The first question that came up is: why is this man, who is antithetical to almost everything Christians believe, so popular with the Billy Graham/Preacher Bob crowd? The answer seems to be, they're willing to overlook all of Trump's character flaws (and treason, and criminality, etc. etc.) because they want the courts packed with conservatives--which Trump has done. That "trumps" all moral considerations. The issue of stamping out Roe v. Wade weighs heavily with the Bible-thumpers as well.
The segment reported that the percentage of support for Trump by these wackadoodles has dropped--from 84% in 2016 to 78% now. That's still a helluva lot! They also said that 26% of 2016 Trump voters were evangelicals...WTF??? Are there that many of them??? (I may have misheard that part, and sure hope I did.)
In any event, this shows the complete hypocrisy of these people. Trump should be utterly abhorrent to them (and I won't bother to list the 500 reasons why). But just to try to turn our nation's clock back 70 years, they're willing to cheer for him, donate to him, and vote for him.
Disgusting.
