Oh, his gang has been working under that assumption ever since he left office. The most significant indicator is that they're concentrating not on fighting present and future criminal charges, but rather, on delays and venue shopping. All they need is to drag these cases in front of Trumpy judges. So far, the indications are that those judges are more than willing to fulfill the quid pro quo agreement.

Well, Trump couldn't buy everybody. And I would imagine there's a possibility of a supposedly safely bought judge "betraying" Trump and actually ruling in accordance with the law, which would have him throwing his lunch against the wall again.
At this point, I actually want the Orange Pusbag to continue to wander around free. If he can fuck up the RepubliQ in 2024, one way or another, that would be lovely. He can then spend 2025, etc. in prison.
