Majorie Taylor Greene is the undisputed #1 asshole bitch in Congress. But Lauren Boebert, high school dropout, fired from McDonald's, waitress in a gun freak cafe, somehow rose to high elected office and occupies the #2 asshole bitch position AND is the dumbest member of Congress, not only currently but for all of American history. So I was wondering--who the fuck are these morons who elected her?
I used to live in Durango, which is a beautifully situated college town in the southwest corner of Colorado. Because of its demographics, it leans Democratic; it's a fairly well-off place. But head several hours north (over three high mountain passes) and you get to Colorado Conservitard Land--Grand Junction, a true shithole if there ever was one, and small communities along the I-70 corridor, including the poetically named Silt, where Boebert and her husband live, and Rifle, where she began her storied waitressing career after dropping out of high school.
Pretty much everyone knows that she's a gun-waving, Trump-licking wackadoodle conspiracy theorist who's even more alt-right than Attila the Hun. Her latest stunt was to vote against the bipartisan bill to alleviate baby formula shortages caused by bacterial contamination. Her "reason"? "This was something that Biden and the Democrats wanted." Dumb bitch.
Colorado's 3rd Congressional District is an odd duck. There's the ultra-rich ski towns like Aspen and Vail, the dirt-grubbing fossil fuel and railroad towns mentioned above, Durango and Cortez, which are physically cut off from the rest of the state, and Pueblo, which is Latino and lies on the eastern slope. It's not united or homogenous in any way. Geographically, it's a little more than half of the state.
So while I do remember much of the area as dead-red, I can't really imagine how Boebert Bitch got more than, say, five or six people to vote for her. Is there some kind of endemic brain damage in the area? Does anyone know just how that utterly incompetent wack job got her dropout ass elected?
