I do think Iran realizes that they're at war with Trump, not with America. Turn Trump into puppy chow and they'll negotiate a peace. Leave Trump alone, and there never will be peace.

Yeah, but in that episode, the humans and the Gorn had no prior history. That's why I don't think a Turd-Ayatollah duel would be just. Iran shouldn't lose two leaders in a row.
From a practical standpoint, I can imagine that what pisses off the Iranian regime the most is that we murdered their leader. If we could atone for that by killing the murderer, then maybe they would be willing to bury the hatchet.
Also, shouldn't someone, national leader or other, who deliberately kills 2,000 people for his own personal aggrandizement be killed himself?

How many wars have we gotten ourselves into because we thought we had the right to fuck with the destinies of other countries? (There was always an excuse, of course: COMMIES, WMDs, etc. etc.)
