Possibly the only bright spot about covid is that it killed more Republicans than Democrats--thus increasing the overall intelligence and common decency of the population.
But like you said, if they want to practice their ideology, they shouldn't chicken out when the going gets tough and push comes to shove. We in Portland had one of the earliest lockdowns and thus, one of the lowest hospitalizations and death rates, in the country. Shitkicker goober conservitard RepubliQ stronghold Idaho didn't impose any covid restrictions at all. Very soon, our hospitals were filling up with covid patients from Boise. We should have turned them away, but I'm given to understand that we had to take them--federal law.
