Fast Food

Has anybody noticed that fast food places are lowering some prices, re-cobbling some of their 'happy meals' to be affordable for what you get?  After all, if Vegas hotels can be lowering room rates and resort fees and parking at least for specified lengths of time...Hope it is a good sign.   I'm not crediting this to the current adminstration.  Just noticing.

Grocery store prices still way high on many items, but maybe...eventually.

As always, whatever the traffic will bear is what drives prices.

McDonalds had to raise the price of their $5 value burger meal to $6 because of Trump.

I'm surprised to see some of the price lowering.  Those places use produce like lettuce, onions, tomatoes.  I'm guessing they are at risk due to deportations.   Editing to add, per Mark's observation, maybe as the FF places and other eateries do have to raise prices on some things to be able to show lowering of some other prices.  Makes sense.

Yes. McDonalds is bringing in a new $5 breakfast meal (something they've long resisted doing), I've noticed "deals" at Wendy's, Jack in the Box, etc. But everything I see is not an overall menu prices reduction--quite the opposite. The new deals are combo meals on the cheap. Still, you can get fed for $5-7, including a drink.

You're right about the price of produce exerting upward pressure. Not only do we have a drop in domestic production due to the Trump holocaust, we can't make up for it via imports because of the Trumpiffs. Surprisingly, we import a significant quantity of lettuce, tomatoes, etc. from Canada. Or at least we used to.

But MAGAs can celebrate the fact that every extra dollar they pay is going directly into their beloved Turd's pocket.

Remember the $5 foot longs at SubWay?  I got a foot long the other day with Dorritos and an Iced Tea.   $17.

And then they swung around the little gratuity screen.
