FBI Says Prepare For MAGA Terrorists In All 50 States

The best part of today's proceedigs was watching Louis Gohmert talk about the riot speeches as just a "difference of opinion".

And the best thing about Louis Gohmert is he looks exactly the way you would expect someone to look whose name is Louis Gohmert.

Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day: Louie Gohmert- 2019 Update

I agree with Megan McCain.  It is time to round these folks up and send them to Gitmo."

Before sending the protestors to Guantanamo, poor old DonDiego suggests one consult applicable laws to the carrying of guns at protests.

And as it turns out there are laws in each State and the District of Columbia pertaining to this issue: "Where local officials can/cannot ban guns at demonstrations"

Ref: Where Local Officials Can't Ban Guns at Protests

As it turns out the District of Columbia is a jurisdiction that does not "allow firearms at demonstrations".

However, 36 States do allow concealed or open carry at demonstrations.

Oh, . . . and at least up until now, no Guantanamo residents are American citizens.  Perhaps that condition should persist.  [Actually one US citizen was detained in Guantanamo, before it became known he'd been born on US soil.]

I wasn't saying mere protesters should be sent to Gitmo.  However, if they entered the capital building (and did nothing else) it is my understanding at the very least they committed two federal felonies.  I also don't think it is a bad idea to send those that chanted "hang Mike Pence" in the capital and those that stood around and chanted USA USA as the Trump supporters beat a police officer with two flagpoles one flying an American flag and one flying a Trump flag to Gitmo.

The Feds say they are going to file actual sedition charges against hundreds of people. Those charges carry a 20 Federal Prison sentence upon conviction.  Unlike in the state prison systems, there is very little good time credit to cut down on those sentences.

Anyway, I am sure Don Diego is looking forward to seeing these violent terrorists getting the maximum penalty the law allows.

Some of them seem like real snowflakes. The guy in the horns is crying he can't get organic food in jail and several of the terrorists threw a tantrum when they were told they couldn't fly.

DonDiego should ask himself: what is the purpose of carrying a gun openly while engaging in a protest? Is it to defend oneself? Not plausible. Therefore, it is meant to intimidate and threaten others, which is illegal in any context or situation.

"Open carry" is absolutely illegal according to state, federal, and common law. You are not allowed to brandish weapons and threaten and intimidate people. That the gun love lobby has persuaded many states to pass laws allowing open carry does not change the fact that it is fundamentally illegal. You are not allowed to threaten other people, even if your Confederate flag and horned furry hat, etc. is nothing but bluff and bluster and in reality, you'd run screaming from an angry old lady trying to beat you to death with her purse.

I do agree that the next round of rioters should not be sent to Guantanamo. We'd still have to feed, clothe, etc. them there. I think they should be hurled into the maw of an active volcano instead.

I'm liking Kevin's volcano idea.

The murderer and Sean Hannity's hero, Kyle Rittenouse, is out on bail a with the Proud Boys at his local bar....and taking selfies making white power signs.

The salient impression I get is that all these jerks look and act like a gang of stupid losers. I mean, really---this is what gets them off? This is what makes them feel important?

I can't fathom that Rittenhouse committed two acts of premeditated murder, but is still prancing around, free to do whatever he wants. Doesn't that send the message that it's OK to shoot Black people? ("Self-defense," my ass.)

Yes, it might have unforeseen environmental impacts. These people are so toxic, it's possible that they could poison a volcano. I think it's worth the risk, though.

Just to correct a possible mis-apprehension of poor old DonDiego's stand with regard to the public-protests in question and public-protests in general.

If the participants violate laws of any jurisdiction in which the protests are performed, the law-breakers should be charged, tried, and punished for any charges of which they are found guilty.
