What part of my statement was incorrect?  However, your statement that the cost of summer riots was insignificant was a lie.

Republicans & conservatives believe all riots are wrong, while kevin & his gang along with pelosi, schumer & their gang believe there is always an excuse for liberal riots. 

Biden was quick to denounce the Capitol riot but has been quiet about the Portland/Seattle/Billingham riots. 

Your present a comparison that is not valid. What happened in the capital was an insurrection. The goal was to overthrow the elected US government and install Trump as a dictator. The insurrectionists constructed gallows to "hang Mike Pence." It is farcical to say it was simply about property damage. It was about ending American Democracy. 

I know a lot of you fail to grasp the historical significance of sacking the capital because you are uneducated in history.  It has particular significance in the history of the Western world.  In 410 AD, the Visigoths sacked Rome. It is considered the moment when the Western Roman Empire began a death spiral that resulted in the dark ages.  Trump and his supporters have dealt our country a blow from which it may never recover. 

I continue to be disgusted by the way you and your ilk think and speak and have no illusions that you will ever learn or change. I do, however, take comfort in the fact that your kind is slowly dying off, along with the horrid and hateful thoughts and ideas that have sustained you.

Here's something that Tom, Woody, etc. may never understand. The BLM protestors were in the right. The MAGA Morons were in the wrong. Everyone has the right to engage in peaceful protest and when some people protesting are not peaceful, that does NOT invalidate that right. The difference between the BLM protests and the MAGA riots is that the latter were done with the full intention to commit multiple serious crimes, including murder. In that, they succeeded, though they fell short in their goal of overthrowing the government.

The false equivalence argument is stupid and cowardly, but people have been using it to discredit protestors for literally thousands of years. The formula is:

1. Paint the protests as illegal and the protestors as criminals.

2. Either focus on or actively provoke anger and violence (Trump's Proud Boys did this so well, and Fox News fell right in line). Make sure that popular perceptions are of that anger and violence, not of what the protests are about.

3. Make sure that the essential message of the protestors is drowned out in all the faux outrage.

Now, I'd like to think that the rabid, visceral reactions to the BLM protests, and the distorted and unfair way they were depicted in the media, were due to something other than good ol' American white boy racism. The disturbed psyches of all the cracker losers watching black people march down the streets. Because y'know, the last time we let that happen, them uppity darkies got them civil rights that subhumans don't deserve.

I'd like to think that wasn't it. I'd like to think that all the various talking heads on conservative propaganda media, the Proud Boys and their gangs, Bloviating Bob down at the coffee shop, your or my drunk uncle at Thanksgiving dinner, and yes, our resident Trumpers, are genuinely outraged due to something even slightly more legitimate than the hatred they feel at the sight of black people demanding to be treated like human beings. But no. That hatred is where they're coming from; what sustains them; it's who they are.

Maybe that's fixable, but I don't see how. I share your fear, that when the MAGA marchers invaded the Capitol, that was the day our democracy ended. Sure, we'll stumble on for a while. But almost 75 million people cheered the marchers on. They hoped that they would find Nancy Pelosi and kill her. They wanted the election results to be canceled. Is there really any hope for us?

Kevin your above comments are very inaccurate! 75 million Trump voters were not okay with problems at the Capitol, as I have stated in other post. You elect to think what you will, sad. Again, 75 million Trump voters do not wish for Pelosi to be killed, what an ignorant statement.

BLM was just a vehicle for the Democrats to further their agenda. Trump did more for blacks then any previous President,even Obama who was a huge disappointment in moving blacks forward! The BLM protest may have started out peaceful but disengrated into free for all. Democrat mayors and governors set back and let the violence happen.

MAGA idiots will do 1/100th of the property damage than what was done by Clinton/Obama/ Biden idiots.  Why?  Because there are 100 hundred times more Clinton/Obama/Biden idiots.  Only idiots don't recognize this truth.  Hell, you guys still want to argue that Trump colluded with Russia.

Again, it isn't about property damage. It is about a coup to overthrow the government. Coups occur in 3rd world shitholes, not first-world nations. 

The polling I have seen indicates about 40% of Republicans support the coup even after they saw it in all of its glory on TV. I'd say it is less than 1% of Democrats that support violent riots. I certainly don't no matter the cause. But again there is a difference between a riot and a coup to overthrow the US government.

The Republican's have flushed this country down the toilet with their conspiracy theories.  Republicans will never abandon the Qs, the white nationalists, the neo-nazis, the right-wing militias and so on because they need all of those groups to win. It is going to get worse, not better. 

To me, there isn't a lot of difference in promoting conspiracy theories that the election was stolen from Trump and conspiracy theories that claim a lifelong moderate like Biden wants to bring communism to America. Both are designed to appeal to the conspricy kook base of the Republican party and rile them up. When conspricy kooks get riled up and have their kooky conspricy theories validated by Republican elected officials and media personalites they get violent as we saw in the Capital.

If they weren't "okay" with "the problems at the Capitol," then why did they vote for the man who repeatedly said he wouldn't accept the results of the election if he lost? That any election that he lost MUST be fraudulent? The man who called upon the Proud Boys to riot for him and start an insurrection if he lost?

I'm sorry, Tom, but the MAGA rioters weren't extremists as far as the Republican party and Trumpism are concerned--they were mainstream Trump, all the way. Just like you. It's disgusting that you continue to defend him--and them. The violence and murder at the Capitol were a direct outgrowth and result of Trumpism. 

Trump didn't do jack shit for the Black community, and your foolish parroting of his claim that he did such bigly wonderful things for them just shows how deluded you are. And quite frankly, your poor grammar and spelling suggests that you are in severe cognitive decline.
