If this rate of return continues I'l be able to retire at the end of Kamala Harris' first term....fully 10 years before my full retirement date for Social Security.

Yep, the Dow Jones just crashed to over 42,000.

You got to admit that the Democrats are the most incompetent Communists ever.

Heck Yeah!  I'll retire before her first term ends.

I'm just wondering if the truth about the economy will sink into the heads of all those morons who don't realize it--and who seriously think that Trump would be an improvement, a view that is fucking bonkers.

But, but, but, look at the price of gasoline.  It was cheaper under Trump.  Even cheaper under Eisenhower, vote red!

"Powell had a clear incentive to deliver a 50 bps cut before Election Day, because Trump has already made clear that he would not reappoint him as Fed Chair... So Powell's only chance of another term is by pleasing
Kamala Harris and her fellow Democrats" - Rabobank

The last time the Fed cut by 0.5% was in October 8, 2008, three weeks after the collapse of the venerable investment bank Lehman Brothers. - Tuomas Malinen

Panic by the Fed or Political?  Pick one.

OK - I'll play

whats your Lehman Brothers event that's occurred in the past year?

and here's a fun fact....Jay Powell doesn't determine interest rates.   It's a collective decision by the entire Fed board consisting of 12 members.    Is it your Deep State boogeyman conspiracy that all 12 Fed members are sabotaging the economy in an effort to elect Kamala Harris ?

that's in the same ballpark as Haitian immigrants eating cats....   the good news is you are in the right party.

Following their mandate to manage inflation and job growth, the market priced in a 50 basis point cut. The last I saw, there something like 60% of traders expected a 50 basis point cut. My answer is neither of your choices.

When a governmental body makes a decision that happens to favor one political party over another, even if such decision was made for apolitical reasons, the other party will often scream that the primary motivation was partisan. Republicans particularly love to do this.

And Aaron...you really shouldn't comment on issues of which you know nothing. Powell doesn't make the Fed's decisions all by himself. It's a board of twelve people.

Some bank in Europe, I believe.  I just know them as a sponsor for the Tour de France.   Not sure if they are a sponsor now, or even exist, but they did a few years ago.
