Federal Judge Dismissed Comey & James Cases As Unlawful Prosecutions

Once again Trump takes illegal actions that result in court cases getting thrown out.

In these two cases, the Judge ruled Trump's hand picked Barbie prosecutor was appointed unlawfully. Comey's case is outside the SOL now and cannot be refiled. They might be able to refile the James case but it would likely be difficult as the whole reason Barbie was illegally appointed was because no competent attorney would sign off on the case.

   (1) - the dismissal is because the prosecuter was determined to have been unlawfully appointed, (2)- the dismissal did not address the actual crimes, (3) - the charges can be filed again. --- A federal judge threw out the indictments against James Comey and Letitia James on Monday, finding they were illegitimate because they were brought by an unqualified U.S. attorney. Judge Cameron Currie dismissed the false statements charges against Comey and bank fraud charges against James without prejudice, meaning the charges could be brought again. "I conclude that the Attorney General’s attempt to install Ms. Halligan as Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid and that Ms. Halligan has been unlawfully serving in that role since September 22, 2025," Currie wrote. The Department of Justice could appeal the decision or attempt to bring the charges under a different U.S. attorney. --

What Trump did is right out of the fascist dictator playbook. Appoint a "special" prosecutor for a fake trial for "retribution." Unfortunately for the Turd, the court didn't buy it.

However, ten years from now, the court WILL buy it, and twenty years from now, there won't be any courts. Just audiences in the Trump Golden Throne Room.
