'scuse me Mark, but you are in an airport. How would you know for sure that she is from Missouri?
And you didn't answer my question: how are you certain she was a MAGA?
I'm glad they challenged her on the water scam.

I would put the likelihood that she was a MAGA at about 95%. Most no-maskers are RepubliQ (as poll after poll has shown), and the vast majority of selfish assholes (as this woman certainly was) are also RepubliQ. She raised a stink and kept other people from being able to patronize the bar. That is very emblematic of MAGA behavior.
Nonetheless, you're right, in the absence of a MAGA hat or a Trump blow-up doll, it's not certain she belonged to the insurrectionist tribe. She could have been a bleeding-heart liberal humanities professor from a small private college who donates 10% of her salary to NPR and another 10% to PETA.

Since you got it exactly backwards, your question is meaningless. All MAGAs (no apostrophe needed) are selfish, and not just in Missouri.
Was that because of your ignorance or your stupidity?

Kevin, congratulations! You used the words "likelihood" and "vast majority" instead of "all." And I'm applauding your second paragraph...laughing too. You do have a way with words.
I sound like a broken record when I fuss how you and others generalize about populations you have no use for. Guess what, not every lefty or every rightie is a selfish asshole or all those other labels you apply. All barrels have rotten apples amongs the good ones, or vice versa. Uh, oh, is that what y'all mean when you call someone a 'snowflake'? Uh, yeah, that would be me.

Since mark's earlier thread was about his concern about who he was flying with, one tends to think this story is fiction.
Not at all. I didn't see any MAGAs behaving badly on the plane though.
They have signs up everywhere downtown saying no masks required for those that have been vacinated. 99 percent of the people aren't wearing masks. Who knew so many people have been vaccinated? The only place I had to put a mask on was at Walgreens.

No, you doubt his veracity, because he's saying something you don't want to hear.
You're a good RepubliQer, Tommie-poo.

At the risk of someone instantly and reflexively yeeping about "Godwin's Law," I'm drawn to an analogy about the final scene of "The Pianist," wherein a Nazi officer saves the life of the titular protagonist. Yes, not all (insert categorization) are assholes.
That said, in the current context of political affiliations, I must wonder why Republicans who aren't assholes continue to rally behind Trump, support the party's various lies, and vote for people who are indisputably, incontrovertibly assholes. Also, I'm not seeing any Republican outrage about the party's current efforts to crush democracy--via voter suppression and a host of other tactics.
Or to put it another way, passively allowing assholes to have their way isn't much better than active assholery. The end effect is ultimately the same. All that is necessary for evil to triumph...

I'd LOVE to see no-maskers stopped by the police and asked to provide proof of vaccination, and dragged off to jail if they couldn't. But Vegas, least of all, will not enforce such provisions.
My Spirit flights to and from Vegas last week contained no no-maskers that I could see. Of course, I was going to and from Portland. It would have no doubt been different if the flight had originated in a red state.
There are many reasons why I'm profoundly grateful to live in a beautiful place that is over 90% liberal, but I can honestly say I never anticipated that being around people who have the brain cells to wear masks during a pandemic would be such a reason.
