The saying, "hindsight is 100%" implies that there is no such thing as foresight. In actuality, some reasonable amount of foresight--like NOT destroying Obama's pandemic team, for instance--would have helped the present situation.
Why does that even matter now? Because this is not the last time this will happen. We can't tolerate the delays and incompetence displayed by the administration the next time.
It does help because misinformation that is going to lead to more people dying is still being pumped out daily. I get to meet a lot of people in my job. I met two on Thursday that wanted to talk about the Pandemic. They both said it was all political and there was nothing to it. Both of these meatheads think that every restaurant being closed and bare grocery shelves are all a giant conspircy to get Trump. One of them even said the virus didn't come about until Impeachment failed.
Two months of denial and claims that it is a hoax have done lasting damage.
Yeah, and said meatheads are far from a rarity. When Presidents lie, it matters. It would only take about 10% of the population ignoring social distancing guidelines to completely negate any containment efforts.
Today, I saw hundreds of people merrily frolicking in the park--it was a beautiful day--and nobody was doing social distancing. I finally left after involuntarily coming within coughing range of about fifty people.
The majority of people here seem to be behaving responsibly, but that isn't enough. Everyone has to be on board. But if enough Trumper morons truly think that this is all a liberal hoax, then we're boned.

You have to read. I didn't say they all were, only that enough of them were to negate social distancing.
