Flying to Vegas, then off to Laughlin tomorrow.

I'll be at the Golden Nugget Laughlin about noon with 14 of my college buddies.  As usual, we have one "Big Room" for our hang out place, while the balance of the guys are in standard rooms.  We split the room costs between all of the guys, so while the Big Room is expensive at $4500 for three nights, we are paying about $475 per person since the standard rooms are crazy cheap in Laughlin.  The Big Room is 2900 square feet with 3.5 baths, an outdoor hot tube, fire pit and full size grill...plus a two car garage.

My buddy Fish, is muling about $500 of brats, sausages, hot dogs, munchies, but mostly booze, beer and mixers in from Orange County, CA.

Here is the the big room.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfIbnq4_0D0&t=25s

Perfect for all 14 of y'all.  Thanks for the link, y'all ought not to have to get in each others' way.  Smart move.  Have a great time!

Candy

Right on, Boiler!  Have a great time with your pals.  Hope you guys have some good luck and hit some Royals and 4OAKs.

Have a good time!

Laughlin! Like an old folks' home, but with slot machines!

It's a funny kind of place. On the Nevada side, there's almost nothing besides the casinos, until you go about four miles uphill to the west, where there's housing--almost all of it apartment buildings; the other normal trappings of a town, like shopping, gas stations, etc. are strangely absent. Anyone who wants those things has to scurry across the river to Bullhead City, Arizona. Laughlin is casinos, housing for casino employees...and pretty much nothing else. Surreal.

But boy, what a bargain the place used to be! I suppose it still is, in comparison to the Vegas mega-gouge, but for a while, the rooms were super-inexpensive and the food, while almost exclusively Senior Bland variety (easily gummed), was almost throwaway cheap. Now, weekend room prices are almost as bad as Vegas, and what food options there are on the Nevada side of the river are both crappy and shockingly expensive. You have to travel about three miles south from the bridge to get to Bullhead City's commercial areas, so you can't walk there (no real transit options).

I hope Boiler has a good time there. Sounds like his annual get-together will be a lot of fun.
