They must have really thought their chances were basically nil, given that they settled for such a large portion of the original claim. But they do get to save face a little bit--not admitting wrongdoing and such.

I'll bet, though, that this won't affect their loyal, drooling viewership one bit. Maybe they can even claim martyrdom and get people to send them donations, a la Trump. But of course, they don't need it--they're sitting on over $4 billion in cash and other liquid assets!

I guess lying is extremely profitable. Getting sued for defamation and losing is just part of the cost of doing business. I'm sure that how they're spinning it.

Fox exec #1: Maybe it would be cheaper if we just told the truth from now on.

Fox exec #2: What? Are you fuckin' nuts? That would be betraying our loyal viewers!

How about a massive class action suit by everybody who has been forced to pay to be lied to? Every single cable viewer in the country. Woo hoo!

This is a good idea but you are basically signing up to get your name shared with a million other liberal fundraisers, charity organizations, and political contribution mailing lists.   

I made the mistake of giving something like this my email address once.    I still have to cleanup my email filters as my info makes the rounds in all their shared lists.
