Fox News poll: 51 percent favor Trump's impeachment and removal from office

Well, . . . sometimes people are wrong.

And, . . . sometimes polls are wrong.

And, sometimes people and polls are wrong.

Here are several examples:  "Trump Can't Win" .   At least it has a happy ending !

Yes, polls can be wrong but if the polls employ the proper techinques they tend to be accurate within a small margin of error.  You also have the Washington Post poll where the number was 58% supported the start of the impeachment process and a Quinnipiac University Poll had the number at 52% So this poll doesn't appear to be an outlier.

Of course, I'd never equate the genocide of the Kurds and our President extorting a foreign power to rig an election for him as a happy ending.  Such an equation is an awful lot like saying, at least Hitler made the trains run on time.

Polls do not determine right or wrong - they only reflect the number of people who believe the DemocRat controlled lying liberal media. Every time the lies are found to be lies, the left just makes up more bullshit while never admitting their lies. That is the DemocRat process as it stands today. These DemocRat party is made up of traitors and are only hindering the Trump Administration in making America great again.

Kevin have you ever taken an IQ test, I would love, love, love to give you 20 to 1 odds that I score higher than you!!!!! You have the open mind of a 12 year old, at best!

Molly, you'd lose horribly, and I wish there was some way we could actually make that happen. But you know that's impossible, so your "love, love, love" is bullshit unless you're willing to put some (worthwhile) money where your pie-hole is. Talk is cheap. Put up or shut up. I'll leave it up to you to work out the details. Otherwise, you're just babbling.

And for what it's worth, most 12-year-olds would crush you as well.

Stalker has not yet gotten his lollipop from Trump. However, he does seem to understand one thing that DonDiego does not. Polls that state a likelihood of an outcome cannot be "right" or "wrong" regardless of that outcome. Polls for the 2016 election suggested that Hillary had (depending on the poll and when it was taken) anywhere from an 80% to a 97% chance of winning, with a margin of error of 3%. A Trump win was far from impossible, and those poll numbers in fact stated that it WAS possible. Just unlikely.

Fox News appears to have used standard polling methodologies. I am sure that our Trumpers would be applauding and cheering and cooing if the poll had shown that only 12% of those polled favored impeachment. But they didn't like the actual results--so now they're saying that their heroes, Fox News, lied! That's rich!

It's intellectually dishonest to accept only the information you like and reject everything else as FAKE NOOZE. But then, intellectual dishonesty is a salient feature of our Trumper morons. I had counted DonDiego as a Trumper, certainly, but not quite as dense as the rest. His last post, however, shows that he doesn't understand something that's pretty basic.

It turns out that poll may be wrong.

Princeton, New Jersey, pollster Braun Research, which conducted the survey, noted 48% of its respondents were Democrats. But the actual breakdown of party-affiliation is 31% Democrat, 29% Republican and 38% independent, according to Gallup.

The poll asked respondents what their party affilliation was. 48% self-identified as Democrats.

I don't know where you got those "actual breakdown" figures, but the "independent" number seems awfully large. Not to mention that the percentages don't add up to 100.

I suppose that in any given poll, a large number of people might self-identify as independent if they were asked about general political orientation, but would be more polarized if asked directly a question such as "Do you favor Trump's impeachment?" That question shouldn't be partisan--any decent person with a brain, regardless of party, should favor it--but it might drive responents on both sides to self-identify as members of one party or the other rather than "independent."

The way poll questions are framed often has a lot to do with the answers generated. I think the Fox News poll was fairly neutral in that regard. They didn't ask, "Do you support the lying Dems' fake news witch hunt to try to smear our glorious leader and reverse the results of the 2016 election, which Trump won by five squillion electoral votes?" That's how some of our Trumpers here would have phrased it.

If Kevin could read he would have seen that the numbers were from Gallup.

No no study has shown the country is 48% democratic.
