American families making less than $100,000 a year could be eligible for a monthly tax credit of up to $500, or $6,000 a year, under new legislation announced Thursday by Democratic U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris of California.

Individuals making less than $50,000 would be eligible for up to $250 a month, $3,000 a year.

“Americans are working harder than ever but stagnant wages mean they can’t keep up with cost of living increases,” Harris, a likely presidential candidate in 2020, said in a statement.

Cool, where do I sign up? Still kind of disappointing. I won't get as much free government money as Republican baller Chuck Grassley who is getting millions of dollars in a Trump bailout.

You mean a tax cut that overwhelmingly benefits working people instead of hedge fund managers?    Ha !

Republicans will never go for it.    Heck, Tom wants to raise taxes on those freeloading bottom 50%

Personally I'm not in favor of any tax cuts for anybody given the current fiscal climate - but given the choice between her tax cut for middle class people ...and Trump's taxpayer funded  stock buy back program.   Well, I think you can guess which I'd choose.

Oh, no, He got that but big Chuckie is such a baller that he demanded more. He is getting millions of dollars from Trump's bailout for farmers that he personally lobbied Trump to pass. His office put out a statement saying Mr. Grassley applies for every program he is entitled to. See that is how it goes for most of these Republican bigwigs. They loot the Federal Government getting millions of taxpayer dollars because they feel they are "entitled" to them. Yet, when it comes to a $3,000 tax credit for a middle-class person their butt puckers and they cry "We can't afford that!"

So now the middle class has the burden of bailing out Chuckie the big corporate farmer because he made a bad business decision.

Even more free money !!!

Trump and House republicans commit to a 10% middle class tax cut next year.   No budget offset has been offered to reconcile it. (Like anyone expected there would be !)

its expected to add another 2 trillion to the debt

There's a difference in a 10% tax cut and a tax credit.

Not as far as the deficit is concerned (for people who care about those kinds of things).

DonDiego respectfully suggests that any significant Federal tax cut be accompanied by an equivalent cut in Federal spending.

FY 2019 Federal Budget

Now the only question is what should be cut.

__ OK, . . . so Health Care spending accounts for 28% of the estimated 2019 Federal spending. (Umm, . . . can't cut that.)

__ Next, . . . Pensions account for 25% of the budget. (Really can't cut that !)

__ Defense is 22%. OK, . . . here we go, . . . everybody wants to cut defense spending. So cut Defense by 10% (bringing it down to around 20% of the budget), . . . and that'll save about $200-billion.

Holy-Moly this is easy !  OK $200-billion reduces the estimated deficit from $985-billion to $785-billion.

Oh wait ! ! !  The estimates above don't include Senator Harris's proposed tax credits.  Let's see, . . . estimated cost of Senator Harris's tax credit plan: $270-billion-per-year.

Ref: The Hill

Come to think of it, this is too hard for poor old DonDiego.  He will leave the questiom of where to come up reductions in the new $1,055-billion annual deficit (after a 10%-cut-in-defense-spending) to the interested reader, . . . if any.

Just connect the dots with Nancy Pelosi and millions that Obama and deems pushed for the Solendra solar money! Now that was a scheme to be admired!
