I am sitting in the smallest room in my house reading Mr. Hanson's opinion piece.
Soon it will be behind me.
It is behind a paywall, so I could only read the first paragraph. That said, it is labeled an opinion piece, not a fact piece.
The premise is a pipe dream and the polar opposite of the truth. It is today's conservatives that have a victim mentality.
Here is how the modern conservative thinks.
I am a white Christian male therefore I am the most disadvantaged person in America.
I am a gun owner with multiple guns but I am a victim because Democrats don't want me to buy an AR-15. If the price to pay for me owning the type of guns I want is dead school children that is simply the price of liberty.
Women need to be punished because they won't date me. Therefore, the government should control their bodies.
I am a Conservative Supreme court justice I should be insulated from being criticized for my opinions that ignore precedent and take away a fundamental right from half the population.
I am a victim of white genocide as Jewish propaganda has made it so white women only want to reproduce with African American men.
I am a victim because I am being replaced by brown and black people.
I am a victim because gays are allowed to marry and that will mean even fewer white women will want to date me.
I am a victim because I am a stalker and I raped the woman I stalked only to have that bitch abort our baby.
I am a victim because when I was a kid I had to learn about slavery, Jim Crow laws, poll taxes and lynchings. That made me feel very bad as a white person therefore kids shouldn't have to learn about bad things white people did as they undermine the ability to raise kids as White Christian Nationalists.
The modern conservative movement is based upon ginning up outrage over how white conservatives are the most victimized people in America.

I can see why you would post this since the facts expressed countradict your interpretation of reality. Would you care to elaborate as to what he said is untrue?

I read that it was written by Victor Davis Hanson. You know, the guy who thought the Iraq war was great and that George W. and Don Rumsfeld were foreign policy geniuses.

Actually, basic news literacy says that the first thing you should do is judge the credibility of the source. So just as I wouldn't take cooking advice from Jeffrey Dahmer or parenting advice from your mother, I'm not going to pay attention to Mr. Hanson. No one should.

It's not "facts," not because anyone agrees or disagrees with him, but because opinions aren't factual. By definition, they can't be.
