The frustrating ebay runaround

     Back on Aug. 2nd I found myself locked out of my ebay account.  I had mostly logged in at this library but that day was at another one not too far away.

     In the past this happened and it righted itself a day or so later.  Not this time.  

     Everything I've tried has led nowhere.  The toll free # for help has only the A.I. answer and no actual human.

     It won't let me start a new account. And though it did show it would send me a text number to use to unlock the account, it was a # I don't recignize.  I've no idea who has the 9xx XXX XX64 it gave me.

     Yesterday was able to get an actual person on the phone.  But she was no help either and I'm still shut out.

     I've tried about everything I can think of.  Maybe someone else has had this happen to them?

Hi Tim.  Yeah, that sucks. From your description, it is likely your account was hacked and hijacked by someone.  It's not an easy fix.  However, I would first deal with the security breach before trying to restart the account again.  I would notify any banks and EBAY about any credit/debit cards used on the account and report it as fraud. After that gets cleared, then I would see how to create a new account. Good luck.
