Gas Prices Soaring Nationwide

True. They're CHANGED jobs, idiot.

And if we produce it, that's the same number of jobs whether we consume it or sell it. Idiot.

Yep, and it doesn't matter if we produce cars, because the auto dealers will still sell cars.  Kevin, is that really your argument?

No. The people who make cars will have other places where they can use their skills, which will be in demand in other industries and venues.

You want a little history here? There was an avalanche of moaning and bitching when Japan started making electronics that were cheaper and better than ours. Republican politicians moaned about "destroying jobs" and wanted to impose steep tariffs. And there were indeed layoffs at RCA, General Electric, and such...and those people wound up working in the computer industry--making PCs instead of car stereos.

Boiler, if you're interested in educating yourself (and I know you're not), read about the Law of Comparative Advantage.

Alternative energy job growth outpaces fossil fuel job losses

Another piece of factual  data Boilerman wont look at it.

Irrelevant. You and your kind are bleating about job losses. The point is, those losses are being more than offset by job gains.

So 2 million oil and gas jobs, and alternative energy jobs goes from 100 to 110?

No. Read, don't bleat.

I guess Boilerman didnt read the article.   More likely he didnt want to be confronted with the facts about our transitioning energy economy.

And you know whats great about all those new green jobs?

- They pay better than the national average

- They dont require college degrees

- They cant be outsourced to other countries

- Their workers dont get black lung disease

- They remove all of our citizens from the volatility of world oil markets and weaken the power of oil autocracies like Russia, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Bottom line, Democrats are investing in the part of the economy that is growing, cleaning the planet, and weakening our enemies.   And Republicans want to prop up Blockbuster Video.
