Gas Prices Soaring Nationwide

PJ, I'll bet you $25 in drinks in Foutain Square that this deal costs more than it saved.  We've met, and I'll pay.

Oh, please, Boiler. You'd never admit it if you turned out to be wrong. You'd just make up some bizarre conclusion, with fake statistics you pulled out of your ass.

Kevin, the data is available on what the SPR crude was sold for, and the data on what it was bought for will also be available.  Well this data is available, if one is willing to spend 5-10 minutes to find it.  Don't worry your little brain though, because it'll deal with large numbers.

I'm sure you'll post some nonsense "proving" your idiot prediction.

Since we're talking about a future event...true, idiot, I haven't done my usual schooling and refutation of your nonsense. Yet.

Kevin, you told me the data I provided was a lie.  It's Sleepy's dat.

PJ, still not willing to bet that the oil buy back will exceed sales revenues?  Big words from PJ, yet no action.  I'll meet you in Fountain Square at the place of your choice.

I just point to facts, Boiler.

Once again - You've had backpeddle your argument on this thread....just like you do every thread when I show you facts.

You've gone from saying it costs more money to refill the SPR to now conceding he's filling it cheaper....just not fast enough.  Like he should take 100% of the country's capcity to refill the SPR over the next month.    Sorry - if you want to cry about that, have at it.

Truthfully there's no urgency to refill the SPR.   Its largely an antiquated relic from the 70's oil crisis.   We dont rely on Saudi oil anymore - that was the whole point of the US becoming energy independant.    Going forward the best use of the SPR is exactly as Biden used it.   To give the government a tool to bring down insane market prices.   If we need oil for a war we have our domestic supply to provide it.

Besides, Thinderbird has closed down.  That was the only bar worth visiting in FOuntain Square.   but I'm glad you are going back to the city now.  I guess those BLM protestors must have settled down.

Are there any black people within three miles? Then Boiler ain't going there.

The SPR, as PJ points out, is a relic, and its best and highest use is as a tool to weaken oil company price gouging. But the question Boiler asks is stupid and pointless. There was an economic benefit to the American people from the release. If Boiler's "source" is accurate, and the release caused prices to drop by 10%, how much money stayed in the pockets of American consumers instead of going to the oil companies?

Boiler should put that one in his pipe and smoke it. I'm sure he'll do a 180.

So one of two things will happen with oil prices in the next 2 years:

1) We will have a recession which will make oil prices go much lower.   And Boilerman's prediciton here is incorrect.

2) We will not have a recession  which would make oil prices stay stagnent or go higher.   but in that case Boilerman's predictions of recession will be incorrect.

I dont pretend to know the future.   One thing I do know - is that US oil ouput will be higher next year compared to this year....which is higher than last year.     Both of those developments were not possible according to Boilerman.   And Boilerman has given two contraditory predictions about the US future economy.    So he will be wrong regardless.
