Gasoline rack price

The rack price in Indianapolis is currently $0.32/gallon for regular.  We have about $0.64 per gallon in state and federal taxes per gallon.  It costs about 10 cents per gallon to truck the gasoline to nearby gas stations, making the delivered total cost of about about $1.10/gallon.  Gas prices in my town are about $1.50 per gallon, so locals stations are currenly making a killing.  Normally then tend to make 15 cents a gallon and not the 40 cents that they are currentlly enjoying.  Gas in Indianapolis, just 15 miles away, is as low as $1.05.  There is a gas war there.

I'll bet there's a lot of bitching from local station owners that lack of demand is killing them. Of course, as you point out, they can adjust their margins appropriately.

If gasoline kept well in storage, I'd put a 5,000-gallon tank in my backyard, fill it up, and wait for the oil companies to manufacture another crisis and push the price back up to $5--or higher. We know they want to.

Kinda makes the big push to drill in our National Parks seem a little ....unnecessary?....thoughtless?...dumb?

Best thing about this news is it eases the cash burn of airlines while they are stuggling.

PJ incites again --"Kinda makes the big push to drill in our National Parks seem a little ....unnecessary?....thoughtless?...dumb?-----  Typical PJ bullshit.  The proposed drilling was being considered at a time it was thought as a necessity to combat the then ever increasing Middle East oil price gouging.--- Nothing to see here except for more idiotic blathering from PJ.

You mean back when gas cost the outrageous price of 2.50/gallon?    There were plenty of fracking companies burning cash  at that level - long before the virus hit.

But drilling in parks makes liberals upset ....  which in turn makes confederate tea-baggers happy... which in turn is what motivates President tweety-bird.

That also explains his support of armed mouthbreathers demanding their Waffle House be reopened in the midst of this pandemic.

But thanks for stopping by

Lol. Who cares? We can't go anywhere anyways.

$3.00 a barrel

$3.00 per barrel, and a couple of weeks ago the President bought lots of oil for the strategic reserve at $30.00.

And he went bankrupt six times. Coincidence?
