The CIA has reported multiple times in intelligence reports that they did not appear to be developing a nuclear weapon. Is the CIA lying?
It is true they do have equipment that COULD be used to POTENTIALLY develop weopons grade material. However, that same equipment is NEEDED to devolop nuclear power plants.
We had a pretty reasonable deal in place, of which, they were apparently holding up their end. Was the deal perfect? No, but it was certainly reasonable.

That's what makes this crusade so stupid. In order to make it impossible for them to develop a nuclear weapon, we'd have to not only destroy all their facilities--and we don't know where all of them are--but also kill every scientist, university professor, engineer, etc. who knows the attendant principles. Then we'd have to destroy all their libraries Then we'd have to obliterate their internet access.
In other words, a hopeless task, quite aside from its illegality and immorality.
Gosh, if only we had an agreement with Iran where they wouldn't enrich weapons grade nuclear material and allow inspectors to verify their compliance.
Oh, wait a minute. We had one of those but Trump canceled it in his first term.

Exactly. We had a good deal with them. It wasn't perfect but it was reasonable. It gave them nuclear power but not weapons.
