Anderson Cooper recently did a segment on CNN where a woman, 42 and a grandmother, was interviewed as she was ending three years of house arrest and was about to report to federal prison to serve a five-year sentence. She had been one of the most violent and visible insurrectionists, fighting with police and bashing in a Capitol window with an ice ax. Her conviction, though, or at least her lengthy sentence, was more due to the utter disrespect she showed the judge and the courts throughout her trial and her continued loud support of Trump.
She showed no remorse for her actions per se during the interview, only that she regretted how those actions had affected her family. But she maintained that she and the other insurrectionists had had the right to do what she did. Again, her refusal to admit her culpability for her criminal acts resulted in her lengthy sentence. She expressed hope that Trump would be elected and she would receive a pardon.
It's appalling. A "normal" housewife and mother drank the Kool-aid and became a violent crazy person, and three years later, still believes in the orange pig who talked her into it. A true believer, even though she's going to prison and he's walking around free!
We need to sterilize and deport ALL the insurrectionists. Cooper remarked that this woman is teaching her children to be little insurrectionists. Now, not all children end up adopting their parents' political views, but she's surely poisoned at least some of their minds. It won't be surprising if one or more of them is arrested for violent acts in the near future.
Is there any hope for this country?
