You stopped reading after my first sentence because you knew I was about to point out to you that I'm far more knowledgeable about economics than you. You do mention the "consept" of supply and demand. Well, let me "explane" how it works with immigration. Immigrants increase the labor supply. They also increase the demand for labor, as more labor is needed to produce the goods and services that the newly increased population requires.

This is childishly simple to understand and if you had stayed in third grade instead of dropping out, ideas like this wouldn't be so challenging for you.

Kevin, your argument that every illegal immigrant worker increases labor demand by a factor of one if fully illogical.  Just admit that you're willing to sacrifice the American worker in order to aid the illegal immigrant.  It's impossible to support both.

Not all immigrants take jobs in the US. Some are children and other dependents; some are spouses. Consider an immigrant nuclear family--that's FOUR people supported by ONE worker, or possibly two. But both employed and non-employed immigrants create demand for goods and services, and thus jobs.

"The American worker" (that noble soul) doesn't need to be "sacrificed." Have you noticed that those eleven million illegals are still here, and have been for decades; in the meantime, unemployment is near historic lows? Clearly, there's room in the labor market for both.

And Fox News/Trumper rhetoric aside, illegals don't compete with the noble American worker for jobs. The illegals do the shit work, for low pay, that American workers won't do. I know that "THAR TAKIN' OUR JOBZ" is a common redneck moron Trumper refrain, but I don't see many Americans lining up to pick kiwi fruit in the 100-degree sun for $8.50 an hour.

Kevin, just as my friend said that they've increased hourly pay by $4 per hour for incoming laborer over the past year and he still doesn't have enough workers, I will guarantee you that this company will increase wages further until enough Americans agree to work.  Capitalism has a fantastic way of equalizing supply and demand.  Government does not have the ability to do this.

Some Americans won't dig a ditch for $10 and hour, but more will at $15, and $20, and $25 per hour.  Stop the influx of illegals, and watch wages for American laborers increase.

Hatred has always been rationalized in economic terms. "They"---whoever "they" happen to be at the moment--are destroying our country and its values and are bankrupting the economy. My point, in any event, is that immigrants, even illegal ones, provide a boost to the economy. I know that the Republican narrative is that they're all shiftless bums who are taking jobs away from the good honest AMURRICAN worker. But many of those American workers are employed in businesses that serve immigrants, and might not be employed at all if it wasn't for those customers.
