Democrats held the House of Representatives throughout the decade. --(2)- In 2011, Republicans held trifectas in 17 states (with 200 seats). Democrats only controlled 6 states (44 seats) marking a modern low for the party. Only 14 states (96 seats) were under split control. The seven at-large states remained in place for a third straight decade. California adopted a commission in the mid-2000s raising the total number of states with commissions to six and more than doubled the total number of seats under commission control to 88. Abbott doesn't have the power, the authority, or the balls to cancel Congressional representation. He and MAGA seem to think that the minority party can just be brushed aside.
Though I do find the idea attractive, we in Oregon can't just round up all the Republicans, strip them of their voting privileges, and sterilize them. Why not? It's against the state and federal Constitutions.
Abbott needs to realize that even though his orange lord and master keeps trying and often succeeding, he can't just wipe his ass with the Constitution (US or Tay-ucks-ass).
