Gun love

If I had ignored those "facts," I wouldn't have made two posts responding to them, would I?

Disagreeing with somebody's "facts" is not the same thing as ignoring them. But then, you lack the intellect to understand the distinction. You talk and reason like a small child.

This is why I want to see Trumpers removed from social life. They cheapen and ruin everything. I was attempting to discuss the dangers of having guns in the home. But our Trumpers distorted it into a political debate, including another iteration of this ongoing puzzling attempt to brand Chicago as the worst city in the world because it's run by Democrats.

Gun deaths shouldn't be a political issue.

Kevin Lewis writes:

"Our culture and others have glorified people who have deliberately sacrificed their lives, usually in battle but occasionally in other contexts as well. Were all the defenders at the Alamo mentally ill?"

Those Texans who had captured the Alamo were fighting for the Independence of Texas from the rule of Mexico.  That less than 200 men defended the Alamo against a massive attacking force for 13 days is a tribute to their character.

And those days were, indeed, valuable to allow the Texans military preparations to meet General Santa Anna as he proceeded to conquer Texas.

On April 21, 1836, Sam Houston and some 800 Texans defeated Santa Anna’s Mexican force of approximately 1,500 men at the Battle of San Jacinto, shouting “Remember the Alamo!” as they attacked.  The captured General Santa Anna recognized Texas Independence.

Kevin Lewis lacks appreciation for resolute men of courage.  DonDiego is not surprised.

LMAO......no one of intelligence can disagree with Kevin, ask Kevin, he'll tell you.  Good to see Kevin is still stuck on stupid.

DonDiego misses my point, as I suspected he would. The defenders at the Alamo took deliberate actions that they knew would directly result in their deaths. In other words, they made a suicidal stand.

I was refuting the point that one of our nastier Trumpers made that suicide is ipso facto a manifestation of mental illness. Actually, suicide can be a rational decision.

And DonDiego should quit using the Trumper trick of putting words in my mouth. Did I ever say that I "lacked appreciation" for the defenders of the Alamo, or anything else negative about them? No. I did not!

Stop lying, DonDiego!
