Furthermore, voters in 2020 were fully aware of the strong possibility that Harris would succeed to the Presidency, either after Biden became incapacitated or as her party's 2024 nominee (remember that Biden originally said he would be a one-term President). So their votes for Biden were votes for her as well.

As the leader of the free world, wars are the concern of the US & we have treaty obligations.  Stupid kevin was in favor of sending arms to the Ukraine & Israel, but now he isn't?

US troops are involved.

The US now has over 100,000 troops in Europe, the highest in almsot 20 years.  10,500 are in Poland, which borders Ukraine.  The US is helping to train the Ukrainians & their pilots have trained in the US.  The US supplied the Ukranians on their attack into Russia.

The US has 40,000+ troops in the Middle East  as well as maintaining 1-2 carrier groups.  The soldiers have been attacked on a regular basis and have sustained casualties.

The navy has been attacked & the navy is protecting shipping.  The navy has also helped Israel fend off missile attacks.

The President is the Commander in Chief but does NOT have the authority to declare war or deploy US troops in order to wage war--or to assist another country in its war. THAT IS THE PURVIEW OF CONGRESS. We are not currently obligated by treaty to send troops anywhere in the world. None of our military/treaty allies have been attacked.

Tom was just bitching about how Biden supposedly isn't getting involved with conflicts overseas. Then he points out all the aid and troop deployment--being ignorant of the fact that such measures ARE THE PURVIEW OF CONGRESS. Biden CANNOT simply send troops into other countries' territory except to and from US military bases. As far as aid is concerned--THAT IS THE PURVIEW OF CONGRESS.

Since your "big fan" idiot characterization is stupidly subjective, I won't bother to refute it. You know damn well that my stance on Biden was that he was still capable of executing the duties of his office. I also said that I didn't think he was necessarily up to campaigning, but the one debate performance wasn't conclusive proof either way. I stand by those two assessments.

Well, it's not de rigeur these days to admit that you're a racist, even if you've just made several racist statements. We have quite a few racists, bigots, and misogynists here...but they would never characterize themselves as such.

The only reason to pay any attention at all to their bigotry is that it reflects Harris's main problem writ small. Nationwide polls have consistently shown that about 5% of the electorate would never vote for a woman for President. Now, most of them are MAGAs, of course, but not all--so that handicaps her by, say, 1-2% right there. How many voters would never vote for a black person? No poll I know of has asked that, but surely, the numbers are greater than zero--and that's an additional handicap. 

I've hoped that we might get beyond that shit in my lifetime, but just look at how much of the MAGA message has been to attack Harris's race and gender. Not that it's necessarily working, but throwing red meat to the base is a go-to move for them when they're floundering (and boy, are they ever floundering).

I do find the attacks on Harris for not earning it amusing.  She earned it. Exceptionally smart with a track record to prove it. She was a career prosecutor, the California AG, and a US Senator.  She was so pro-law enforcement the nickname given to her by her Democratic rivals was Kamala Cop.

The bottom line it is a choice between a career criminal vs a career prosecutor which is an easy choice if you have any morals.
