Harris takes a 3 point lead in Iowa

If it's not one thing, it's 14 others. It kinda resembles little league sports teams and their parent's behavior..somehow.

Another poll from Emerson College released Saturday showed Trump with a 10-point lead in the Hawkeye State -- "Emerson College, released today, far more closely reflects the state of the actual Iowa electorate and does so with far more transparency in their methodology," the memo read. "To their credit, the Emerson College poll has an R+4 party split (below 2020 exit polls at R+10), and a Trump +8 recalled 2020 vote margin that aligns with reported returns," the experts explained. "Emerson shows Trump ahead of Harris 53-43 in their survey. In the outlier Des Moines Register poll, they claim Harris leads with seniors (age 65+) by 19 points (55-36). In 2020, President Trump carried seniors 54-45 over Biden according to CNN exit polls."--https://www.foxnews.com/politics/shock-poll-harris-leading-trump-iowa-3-point-shift-toward-vice-president-red-state

David, because you have such severe emotional issues and needs, I strongly suggest that you believe only the "news" that you want to believe.

Oh, wait! FOX NOOZE! You already did that! Good job, Fido!

Fox did not take the poll, they just reported it. Read at your leisure - and learn something.

"The memo" expressed an unsubstantiated opinion about the Emerson poll supposedly being far more accurate than the Des Moines Register poll...and then they referred to a 2020 poll of a small section of the electorate in order to "justify" their opinion

Be calm, David. We know you've told us that Trump will win with six hundred percent of the vote and a 1387-0 win in the Electoral College. Believe what you want, and please leave the neighborhood kids alone.

You know who to blame for all that chaos, whether or not you're honest about it. Consider which party refused to certify the 2020 election results. Consider which party led an insurrection to prevent that certification. Consider which party has passed multiple state laws that cripple the ballot counting process. And consider which party's Presidential candidate says and has repeatedly said that an election can only be honest if he wins it.

You don't like all this shit, you know what to do. Vote Democrat.

Never..more fun to bitch about it. Besides, I can't just jettison lifelong principles and force my deceased relatives to roll over in their graves. Of course your side is perpetually virtuous, always confidently quiet, and mistake - free, right? And I'm a Columbian missionary bush pilot, too.

Well, your lifelong principles may have, and should have, included an abiding respect for our democratic institutions. One party and its perpetual candidate have built an entire platform out of distrusting and disrespecting the core institution of elections. Your deceased relatives almost certainly wouldn't approve.

I know that being told that my vote doesn't count unless it's for a particular party bothers the crap out of me. Does it bother you? Or do you rationalize it by saying that you were planning on voting for that party anyway?

All votes count. I've already voted (early). I voted R, pretty much down ticket with a couple exceptions. Like a good conservative  I also voted against any bond issues that would likely raise my property taxes or other taxation levels. They're high enough. I didn't vote for either presidential front-runner..on purpose.

Re municipal bonds--if you don't vote for them, make sure you also don't complain about a lack of municipal services that those bonds would pay for.

But that aside, municipal bonds do NOT raise your taxes by as much as other municipal exenditures would, because the interest on them is almost always exempt from state and federal taxes, making them attractive to investors, and lowering their cost to the city issuing them. If you're a good anti-tax Republican, you should be strongly in favor of the issuance of municipal bonds, because they lower the cost of funding municipal services, which in turn lowers your property taxes (or lessens property tax increases).

It also seems to me to be very adherent to the conservative free-market philosophy. A city puts its debt on the free market in order to finance municipal needs. The alternative would be to raise the property taxes that you don't like. Instead of paying, say $20 million in property taxes to fund a new municipal roadway, taxpayers like you pay the far-below-market interest on that amount instead. Seems like a win-win to me.

And of course, you can thank those who authored the Revenue Act of 1913 for that. I'll leave it up to you to research who was in charge at that time.
