Because it is working so well in Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea. Also - https://www.forbes.com/sites/rainerzitelmann/2020/03/16/socialism-the-failed-idea-that-never-dies/?sh=796bf95b23cc - Over the past hundred years, there have been more than two dozen attempts to build a socialist society. It has been tried in the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Albania, Poland, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Romania, Czechoslovakia, North Korea, Hungary, China, East Germany, Cuba, Tanzania, Laos, South Yemen, Somalia, the Congo, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Mozambique, Angola, Nicaragua and Venezuela, among others—not counting the very short-lived ones. All of these attempts have ended in varying degrees of failure.

And they are a LOT more socialistic than the United States.
Denmark: 52% top marginal tax rate, free health care, universal child care, free college tuition, etc.
Sweden: 57% top marginal tax rate, free health care, etc.
France: 45% top marginal tax rate and free health care, etc.
Other European countries: etc.
So why aren't you pointing to them and screaming "socialism?"

I don't scream. These nations are more correctly considered as being "centralist", and as the article I posted says, as they have moved away from socialism. Read the article - educate yourself.

Gotcha. So if the US were to move to a (Denmark-like) 57% top marginal tax rate, free health care for everyone, universal childcare, and tuition-free college, you would not consider it to be socialistic.
That's great!!!!! We finally agree on something. We can stop arguing now.
Wow, this is shocking news

You and I do not agree about this - don't try to put words into my mouth. By the way, I was not arguing - I was stating facts while you continue to make things up that you can not back up with substantive facts.
