I suspect that he asked several different WH staffers to do it and they all said "uh, no, thanks." There is evidence that the Trump Gang of Idiots is falling apart. For one thing, they're all just now finding out that in helping Trump with the cover-up, they might very well be criminally liable--and they won't have the protections that Trump has!

I expect many of them to sing sweetly, like canaries, when the impeachment inquiry gets up to full speed. And of course, Trump will promise to pardon them if they ignore subpeonas---which, unfortunately, won't work, because you can't be pardoned out of a contempt citation. The jail cells will get lonely, and the formerly loyal Trump lackeys will knock on the bars and say "Hey, tell the prosecutor I'm willing to testify."

The veneer of loyalty to Trump is very thin. And it should be. Trump has shown he's perfectly willing to ass-fuck even his most loyal stooges. Not to mention the people like Clem Cornpone in Iowa who voted for him and went to all his hate rallies and screamed his fool head off and is now finding he has no place to sell his soybean crop.

Our resident Trumpers are quietly sobbing over their bowls of Pablum and are no longer as stimulated as they were before. Insulting people who simply report the growing evidence of Trump's crimes isn't giving them the rush it used to. They're beginning to realize, dimly, deep in the recesses of their retarded-toddler brains, that nothing they can say or do will make the slightest bit of difference--Trump is going to be driven out of office, one way or another.

It looks like Trump decided to go with something more practical.  He gave Putin the Syrian Kurds. 

I feel sorry for the Kurds. All they've ever wanted is a country of their own. But they've never had any support from anyone, except some brief, tenuous help from Dubya, which vanished like a fart in the wind when the whole "invade Iraq" mess went south.
