I'm old enough to remember seeing the A's when they were in Kansas City - beautiful little ball park. Rocky Colavito!

Please tell us again how women are weak and stupid and can't play big manly man sports. Stupid Tom will chime in and support you. We certainly need to have another episode of "Tom and Jerry in the Sixty-Nine Position." It's been what, ten minutes since the last one?
Slurp, slurp, mmm.

Unbelievably, many of the proposed plans were for an open-air stadium, and one of the less sentient planners said that they could just play all home games in the evening. That bozo must never have been in Vegas at 7:00 on a July evening. It's actually the very hottest time of day.
The history of MLB teams relocating to markets that hadn't had a major-league baseball team before is rocky. Some franchises never made it (Seattle Pilots), some lasted a while but ultimately left (Montreal Expos), and some thrived after a slow start (Arizona D-Bags). There's no guarantee that the A's will succeed. I think the killer is that even if you have a domed stadium with a/c, who the hell is going to want to walk there? Nobody.
I'm sad to see the A's leave the Bay Area. I was there during the glory years, the Billy Ball era, the Moneyball era, etc., as well as some of the most awful teams ever to take the MLB field. Whatever the current performance of the team, though, you could always get good seats. And BART stops right at the stadium, so you could park one or two stations away for free and buy a $6 round trip ticket.
Just to show yet again, how dumb you are with sports.
The Diamondbacks first played in 1998 season. They won the World Series in 2001. Is that what you were referring to when you reference their "slow start."
Please don't talk sports Kevin.

Another kevin lie. All the proposed plans are for either a closed or retractable roof. There are no plans for an open stadium.

Another stupid Tommie-poo misunderstanding of the English language. I said "were," not "are."
Stupid Tommie-poo.

Jerry, you're at your dumbest when you try to argue for the sake of arguing.
AZ lost 97 games in their inaugural season. That's a "slow start." They they went out and bought themselves a couple of star pitchers and were successful after that.
Idiot.

There never was a discussion of an open station, but you are welcome to show me.
By the way the Aviators stadium is open & they almost sell out every night.

Do most expansion teams win a lot of games in their first season, oh wise man?
I'd say winning a World Series in only their 4th season doesn't count as a slow start whatsoever. In fact, it might be the fastest in history for an expansion team. But spin away, my friend.....
