We have maybe 15 -20% of the population that thinks COVID-19 is a hoax and that masks are some sort of evil conspricy to control conservatives perpetrated by Bill Gates or some other liberal boogeyman.

Years of Fox News, Social Media and other conservative opinion outlets have rotted the minds of a critical mass of people.
Yeah, we'll have maximum infections and deaths because of these people.
I do believe that we're going to get rid of them. Twenty years from now, being a Republican will be about as socially acceptable as being a pedophile. But the process will be painful.
Where I am, I generally have to look at five people before I see one wearing a mask. I don't confront such people, but I'm sure they would give self-justification arguments like the utter moron/asshole you pictured above. If only they were the only ones who are going to die because of their actions!
