Hiding the Trump shame

Calling your opinion "the truth" is stupid and arrogant.

I have some acquaintances who voted for Trump (some used to be friends, until they converted to stupidity and evil by becoming MAGAs). I've asked them why they think that Trump will lower grocery prices.

I won't bore you with their answers, most of which were dumb dumb dumb in the extreme and betrayed an utter ignorance of basic economic principles. When I pressed them further, they hemmed and hawed and ultimately defaulted to, "Well, the economy was good under Trump."

Yeah. Until it wasn't

None of my MAGA goober acquaintances could tell me exactly what Trump, or any President, could or would do to lower the prices of consumer goods  At this point, they all turned their heads away and started to mumble.

Have the MAGAs you've talked to demonstrated their shame in similar fashion? I'm seeing a LOT of buyer's remorse already!

Daisy, feel free to chime in, call me a liar, blah blah blah. You can no more control yourself than a donkey can avoid shitting.

Kevin is baffled by capitalism.  While not perfect, it put the US on the map as the strongest economic country in the world.  As regulations strangle our economy, Kevin doesn't understand why why our strength dwindles.  Sensible people know why.

Unregulated capitalism is something we tried for about 100 years. It led to brutal exploitation of labor, deadly pollution, and financial crises. Big companies do not act ethically or with a social conscience unless forced to do so.

You really need to learn, among many other things, history.

You probably think that spending trillions to stop the world from warming 1.5* before 2100 is a valid use of resources.  Keep drinking your fluoride and everclear koolaid.

You probably think that doing nothing to mitigate climate change will be just swell, and that the world won't suffer quadrillions of dollars' worth of damage, not to mention loss of life.

The worldwide damage from climate disasters just last year was over $500 billion, with a loss of about 120,000 lives, But sure, let's not make any effort to stop it.

Lol at stopping the weather, but go on, tell me more about your lobotomy?

You're throwing out separation of powers, legislative and executive override / veto powers, and SCOTUS powers ( you don't have to remind me that SCOTUS is currently skewed right). You should be reminded that there has been a "unified govt." ( trifectal control by one party) situation 48 times since 1867 in the US. All those scenarios were survived as the political pendulum swung. Its just your side's turn in the ringer. Moot point for you though since your central beef is with Trump and you give him so much power that he too will override / overrun historical precedents. You know you're pissed off at over half of the population, too..ya Grinch?

You are free to stick your head in the sand. There has never been anyone like Trump in the Oval Office--even the 2016 version of the Turd was an improvement over this one, mainly because the earlier Turd had not the slightest clue to what he was doing. So all your historical precedents are moot. There has been no President so self-aggrandizing, narcissistic, selfish, evil, and yes, STOOOOPID. Not even close.

You need to sit down and think about this. All those safeguards and checks and balances and guardrails are based on the premise that even when government officials disagree with one another, they will act ethically. That won't happen with Trump and the MAGAs.

Just as one example--the classic remedy to government overreach is to file a court action. But what if the court is a Trumper court--and the person filing the action is now a Trump "enemy" and is subject to arrest and prosecution (in another Trump court!)?

You just don't see how fragile it all is. That's alarming, and sad.

Hundreds of millions of Americans see Trump as I do. You LUVVVV him and want to suck his dick. That makes you the aberrant psycho in this crowd. No one has EVER "bought your moronic shit."

You sad, angry little girl.
