What about Illinois. Their housing costs have been almost flat for a decade, yet people are continuing to move out. They are moving away due to taxes and crime.
Many are moving from California due to taxes and crime.
They are mostly moving because their company allows them to work remotely which means they can go some place the cost of living is less. Thats also why I left Chicago in favor of Indianapolis....plus the weather is much better.
Regardless - you should examine what happened to Colorado's politics when it was invaded by the exodus of Californians two decades ago. Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, and even Texas are going through that now. If you are a Republican its not something you should celebrate. But I like it !
