The House is finally trying to become the third branch of government again.

Good to see some folks growing a spine and asserting their Constitutional authority against "Executive Power Trump" and law-making by tweets.

U.S. House votes against Trump's tariff on Canada with help of Hurd and five other Republicans | CPR News

"Colorado GOP Rep. Jeff Hurd was one of the Republicans who voted to end the tariff. He said tariff authority resides with Congress, but more importantly, he said he was listening to his constituents.

“I've heard a lot from our farmers, agricultural producers, manufacturers of all sizes across the district that these tariffs are not good for Colorado's 3rd District. And the Constitution is clear and it's in the best interest of my district. And for me, that made the vote the right vote, and I stand by it,” Hurd told CPR News.""

"Democratic Rep. Brittany Pettersen said one outdoor recreation company in her district got hit with an unexpected $20,000 tariff bill.

“It’s heartbreaking when you talk to small businesses who don't know what their costs are going to be over the next year, let alone next week,” she said. “They are told with anything that they're importing that they won't actually know the cost until it hits the shore because they don't know what might be tweeted out that day.”"

"Hurd also said he heard from many of his small businesses that tariffs were bringing cost concerns, uncertainty and unpredictability."

Trump's approval rating is lower than Biden's and Democrats have won every special election since he was inaugurated.

Maybe the damn is cracking.    Bondi spitting on the Epstein survivors yesterday isnt helping their cause.

Bondi was a real bitch, saying things like the ranking Democrat on the committee wasn't a "real lawyer." She pretty much refused to answer any questions.

The House Democrats are getting more and more confident; it looks like they're planning to retake the House in November.

I have some questions; why was this vote against Canadian tariffs only? Aren't they all illegal, for the same reason the Canadian tariffs are?

I get it that the Canadian tariffs are the most consequential. But if they managed to get some Republicans to come along, shouldn't they have seized the moment and passed a resolution declaring ALL executive-order tariffs invalid?

Or did they realize that they would only get cooperation from a few Republicans whose constituents were red-state farmers and were getting fucked over the hardest, and they wouldn't be able to spark an overall rebellion against the Turd?

You answered your own question with your last statement.  Doing what they can for their voters.  We'll be seeing more of this, I'm sure.

You mean...you mean...a MAGA politician prioritizing the welfare and wishes of his constituents over the commands of and blind fealty to the Orange Pig? Didn't they all take a loyalty oath to him?

I don't want to see ANY MAGA community/town/village/county/district/state/barnyard receive ANY kind of relief of ANY kind. I want them to fully suffer the consequences of their actions. I want them to get what they voted for. I want them to be miserable; to suffer.

Hurd and the other apostates are essentially telling their constituents, "I'm saving you from your own stupidity." But Hurd et al went all in for the Turd in 2016 and 2024. They're equally culpable for the mess their goober constituents are in.

The only just solution is to cleanse the country of all MAGAs. De-MAGA America, just like Germany was de-Nazified.
