Why are democrats so afraid of voter id?

I don't think foreign countries' ID laws or what a poll says is all that relevant, but if you do, fine. I do find the Heritage Foundation link to reinforce my earlier points, the 1,513 proven instances of fraud go back to 1982, did you dive into that info, or did you like the 1,500 number and run with it?

Let's do some math(as always I welcome any corrections of any flaws you may find):

2024-1982= 42 years of data, assuming some kind of election every two years that would be 42/2=21 elections.

The actual report says 1,513 proven instances of fraud, so 1,513/21 elections 72 instances of fraud per election. Just to make it easy 72/50 states = 1.44 instances of fraud per state per election.

In February Fox News reported that 7,300,000 illegal immigrants had entered the country under the Biden Administration. Let's do the math, 7,300,000 / 50 states = 146,000 immigrants per each state on average.

Should we worry about 1.44 instances of voter fraud in each state or 146,000 immigrants in each state? GOP says let's do the 1.44.

Nearly 7.3 million migrants have entered US illegally under President Biden | Fox News

On the Independent.co.uk article, I don't see how the SAVE Act would have prevented election workers from mishandling ballots. Can you explain how the Save Act would apply in this case? Thanks.

I checked out that Heritage Foundation site and noticed that most of the illegal voting was by people who were felons or sex offenders, not illegals

If we had voter id it would have been discovered that they were not legal to vote.

why would anyone cast a fraudulent vote, committing at least five felonies in the process, with little or nothing to be gained from it

Prisons are full of people who commit felonies who didn't think tey would be caught.  In this case the people committing voter fraud are being paid.

Closing the open border is in the Republican platform, so it is a prioirty

what a poll says is all that relevant

People are elected to do the will of the people. If 80% of the population is in favor of voter id, our representatives should act on it.

Nobody can still explain why we shouldn't have voter id.  What is the downside?

It's already being done, so this bill is virtue signaling, a solution looking for a problem, and the poll says much more than that, I would be happy to discuss the entire poll with you. The downside is expanding the government at more cost to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Are you in favor of spending money to solve a nonexistent problem?

I appreciate your response to my post, would like to comment on the Heritage Foundation number that my post was mostly about, as well as the mishandling of the ballots that you linked to?

People being paid to vote fraudulently? Any actual evidence of that, fool?

We don't have an "open border," no matter how many times your kind uses the term.

Your 80% number is a fantasy. But even if 99% of people polled want to take away someone's fundamental rights, that's still unlawful and morally wrong.

I've already explained to you why we "shouldn't" have voter ID. You were too stupid to understand then, and there;s no way you've gotten any smarter.

Why won't the House put the Senate bill to the floor then? Waiting for temporary Executive Orders if Trump is elected? Not a good way to govern, of course, MAGA doesn't know how to govern.

Yeah, priority, my smelly ass. They proved their hypocrisy about this issue by blocking the bipartisan immigration reform bill. It's on their platform because they're still virtue signaling, and x number of MAGAs and sane people will vote RepubliQ because of that issue alone--you know, like Tom's reports of 17 trillion people, or, sorry, subhumans, FLOODING across the border EVERY THREE MINUTES.

Parenthetically, I've always wondered why some poor compadre coming north to pick avocados so he can feed his family fills so many MAGAs with white-hot rage; but then, it's pretty hard to understand MAGA thinking (and that phrase is somewhat of an oxymoron).

Hey Max.  I believe that your methodology of the number of elections is flawed.  Every two years, there is a primary and general election.  Also, there are off cycle elections for city, county, and school board election.  I calculated my answer using 4 elections each 4 years or 1 per year.  I came up with an average of 36.5 cases of fraud per election.  I didn't add off cycle elections because I don't know the number.  Dividing by 50 ignores DC and the territories.  So the highest number using only 50 states would be 0.73 per state per election.  Take care and stay cool.

Let's just compare the number of people killed by lightning every year with the number of confirmed cases of voter fraud, then decide if the government should spend 900 quadrillion dollars on an atmospheric shield dome to prevent the lightning deaths.

Rebublicans have been bitching about the illegal immagration for 3.5, and you haven't noticed?  Oh my.

Democrats have told us, like with Joe's mental decline, that what we see and hear isn't really happening.
