So why not amicably split up? The blue states can continue with our advanced, wealthy democracy. The red states can have the fascist dictatorship they always wanted, and sink slowly into the economic and social muck.

Republicans should love that, because they would have absolute, ironclad control of Trumpland, no longer needing to worry about pesky things like votes and laws. Democrats would love it, too, because we won't have to subsidize the lifestyle of the red goober states any more. We'll be able to trade with the world, without the bullshit of tariffs or trade wars.
