Kevin, if wages increase by 3%, and inflation increases by 5%, you bragging about the surge in wages is a disingenuous lie. The stock market should judged similarity.

Give me any prolonged period in history where high inflation was coupled with an outperforming stock market. It didnt happen during Biden's inflation in 2022. Can you find any such period in your lifetime?
And if you cant - can we just call bullshit on your entire thesis since you are claiming they go together?
I'll wait.

I'm waiting for the numbers comparing the Biden administration's vs. the Trump administration's inflation-adjusted S&P 500 performance. A yearly snapshot would be interesting.

PJ, let's stay on topic. The delta between the stock market and inflation is important. Do you not agree? As I said before, but possibly you missed it, the S&P 500 increased beyond inflation under Biden by 37% which is quite good...frankly outstanding. In Trump's short time in office the S&P is growing over inflation slightly faster on an annual basis. Some on this site painted a dishonest painting of reality.
Um - no. You couple two things that dont couple.
Biden had one year of high inflation (like the rest of the globe)...and the stock market tanked.
You will see a similar dynamic whenever infation realed its ugly head in the past.
You, however, claim the oppositte with your point - somehow that inflation push up the stock market so you need to "adjust" the stock market accordingly. So Im just correctly calling bullshit on the two things you falsely claim go hand in hand.
So, yes. Lets stay on topic. Joe Biden's stock market went up by more than 20% each of the years he didnt have inflation. Will Trump do the same? I sure hope so. Im fully invested. His artificial price controls with trade make me pessimistic. I seem to recall you having a big problem with that kind of thing in the past. But lets stay on topic.

PJ, the most important thing in all of finance is value. If the countries average income increased by 5 percent while inflation increase by 7%, that's bad. If income increased by 5%, and inflation increased by 3%, that's good. It's not different with the stock market.

It's VERY, EXTREMELY different with the stock market. I can explain to you why the prices of stocks are not even remotely the same thing as the money supply, but you wouldn't understand.
The correlation you're pushing is bogus. You also show a childish misunderstanding of what you call "value."
The TRUTH of the matter is that the Presidential policy or which party is in control in Congress has minimal impact on long-term stock market returns. What is also true is that Trump's threats of high tariffs cause a large short-term market crash.
Furthermore, MAGA completely ignored the S&P 500 for most of Biden's term.

but it is different.
People who get their income from the stock market instead of a paycheck have been largely unimpacted by inflation....in fact, they are doing better than ever. Income disparity between the classes is on the same path it's been since Reagan.
inflation hurts the hourly wage earners. Biden suffered the consequences of that last term....Trump is suffering them now. The difference now is Trump is trying to kill the stock market and job market too.
