How bad is the plexiglass?

For the purposes of this discussion, let's assume you've visited Vegas recently and you've played sit-down table games and/or poker with plexiglass dividers.

I've already heard that as far as poker is concerned, the dividers make the game MUCH less enjoyable and somewhat more difficult because you can only sort of see, hear, and talk to other players. I would imagine that blackjack, pai gow poker, etc. also have a social aspect that has now been largely choked off.

I'm not referring here to the jacked-up limits and lower seat availability, though those things certainly enter into it. How did it feel to you the last time you played Pandemic Blackjack or Virus Pai Gow Poker?

Have played Pandemic Plexi Blackjack.  Hardly noticeable after a minute or two.  Maybe because only three players at the table, thus not crowded by the plexi.  Players still do plexi fist bumps and air high fives.

Haven't played live poker or Pai Gow Poker.

I played craps in Memphis....they had the plexiglass dividers up but with no limit on the number of players....so the table was pretty crowded and I found the plexiglass to be mostly just a facade that didn;t really do anything but give the appearance of doing something.

Everyone is leaned over the table  beyond where the pexiglass divides you so you could easily converse with the players on either side of you.

I didn't play long - seemed a little unsafe especially with 10 people at the table.

Yeah, a lot of places seem to be paying lip service to the concept rather than creating an actually safer environment.

I've also wondered about handling chips that pass from one person to another multiple times in the course of a day. Or the dice for that matter.

Just a little off topic, but the video poker bars at Station properties, you could slide the glass back somewhat out of the way if you were with someone.  Lots better.  and casinos are about 60=40 on having plexiglass or not at all on tables

I doubt there is a ton of scientific support for the plexiglas, but I'll keep quiet.  Whatever they can do, science-based or lip service to keep places running is OK with me.  My nail salon has a hanging plastic curtain at each station between the customer and the nail person, as well as masks required.  Last time in I had to ask for the 'curtain' to be cleaned before my manicure as it was spotted with...something...ick.

JMHO but it makes little sense to have an age cut off for masks.  Toddlers can bring it around me just like grownups.  I see toddlers wearing masks at our Walmart.  All depends on how the parents present it, and having something that fits their little faces, though I'm sure it isn't easy.

Plexiglas is probably just as effective as the TSA. It's a feel good/safe move but doesn't stop shit.

Yes, and the toddlers who attended Halloween gatherings, weddings, and Trump rallies should all be/have been required to wear masks. I refer to their mental ages, of course.

One thing that baffles me is that even when there is widespread mask-wearing, you rarely see social distancing. People seem to think that a mask is like a magic shield. You still need to stay six feet away from others.
