How Can We End Conservative Hate And Violence

The Pittsburgh guy hated President Trump; so how could Trump have inspired him?

The Florida fake bomber had Trump stickers; the Republican shooter had Sanders info.  How could President Trump cause one & sanders not the other.

He didn't hate Trump.  He just didn't think there was anything Trump could do to stop the Jews from taking over the world. What incited him was his belief in the conservative conspiracy theory that originated on Fox News and was spread by Trump claiming that rich Jews are funding the Honduran Migrants.  Trump, Fox News and the conservative media made it sound so bad that he felt he had to take action.

The MAGA bomber didn't just have Trump stickers.  He attended numerous Trump rallies and threated numerous liberal commentators(via DMs) with death and dismemberment before engaging in his bombing scheme. His longtime attorney said prior to 2016 he had no interest in politics and that Trump had radicalized him. That he finally found the "father figure" in Trump that he had been searching for his whole life. And he got really angry when anybody criticized his new daddy.

Below is a picture of bernie sanders volunteer James Hodgekinson.  As usual in Mark world what is bad for Republicans doesn't count for Democrats

Again show me where Sanders said something like old white Republicans are the enemy of the people or are bankrolling a diseased ridden immigrant inavaiders.

And then had hours and days of postive media coverage of his conspiracy theory.

Tom loves false equivalency as much as Trump.

Now we have this gem from don lemon

“So we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.”

Mark writes: "What incited him was his belief in the conservative conspiracy theory that originated on Fox News and was spread by Trump claiming that rich Jews are funding the Honduran Migrants."

Vox reports that this is not true:

"The obsession that appears to have tipped the gunman over the edge was a conspiracy theory insinuating that the migrant caravan currently making its way through southern Mexico, and which President Donald Trump and conservative media have treated as an existential threat to the United States, is a Jewish plot."

[But a few paragraphs later . . .]

"Trump’s version of the caravan panic didn’t blame the Jews, but it’s not surprising, given longstanding anti-Semitic tropes, that the gunman ended up doing just that."

Naughty!  Naughty!

It's not nice to make false statements on a website.

Thats a worthy point, DonDiego.

Trump did not falsely say George Soros or Jews were funding the caravan.   He did falsely claim democrats were.   He also falsely claimed there are middle eastern people in that caravan.      he also falsely claimed that those countries were sending us their worst people.  None of these claims have any basis in fact.   Again - this is the president of the United States and all of the power that comes with it.   Telling flagrant, easily refuted lies.  Trump's bullshit claims about the caravan used to inflame his base

Fox News took that conspiracy to a higher level by specifically pointing to George Soros.   And also saying the caravan was infected with highly infectious diseases like smallpox and leprosy (Smallpox was essentially wiped off the planet over 80 years ago).  FOX News tips the Holy-shit scale with their lies about the caravan

The right-wing terrorist in Pittsburgh was targeting a Jewish charity group called "HIAS" which was founded by Jews escaping Hitler in the early 20th century.   Their mission is to help resettle, Americanize, and find employment for  refugees  legally resettled into the United States.    Terrorist targeted Jews in large part because of HIAS

There are two entities that have been passionately taking the oppossitte side of HIAS in the context of the caravan:  Our president along with his far right political allies....and the propoganda sources that fuel their position

its not known which entity played a larger role of informing or inspiring the Pittsburgh terrorist.  But considering neither of those parties has toned down their false rhetoric about the carvan in the wake of this incident tells us one thing-    They are serious scumbags that care a hell of a lot more about their politics than the consequences of their speech.

PJStroh says: "Thats a worthy point, DonDiego."

DonDiego thanks PJStroh for his recognition that President Trump did not connect Jews with "the caravan's funding."

There are other reasons to suspect that President Trump may not be anti-semetic:

__ 73% of Israeli Jews supported the move of the US Embassey to Jerusalem.

__ 59% of Israeli Jews have a favorable view of President Trump (By comparison the latest polls of the President's job approval indicate fewer than 50% of Americans have a favorable view.)

Nonetheless, this minor detour into truth and facts has brought up a good question: If the Jews aren't funding "the caravan" who is ?

DonDiego does not know, . . . but he opines whoever it is, they likely harbor ill-will toward President Trump, . . . and the United States.

Oh, for the record, poor old DonDiego harbors no ill-will against any organization helping to resettle, Americanize, and find employment for refugees legally admitted into the United States.  And DonDiego ses no reason that President Trump would object to a volunteer-group aiding resettlement of legally admitted refugees.

What evidence does DonDiego have (if any)  that anyone is "funding" the caravan?     Shouldn't there be some kind of reported, factual evidence  the carvan is somehow drawing organized financial support of any kind before DonDiego presumes that to be true?

Or is it ok to just make stuff up and post it on the internets?  DonDiego seemed concerned about this in regards to Mark's post.

PJStroh inquires: "What evidence does DonDiego have (if any)  that anyone is 'funding' the caravan?"

Umm, they do not appear to be dehydrating or losing significant weight.  When they break camp in the morning, they leave a lot of stuff like blankets, containers, baby strollers etc. lying on the campground, . . . and when they depart the next campground the next morning it reappears.

Oh, and the President of Guatemala is on the record as stating that the caravans are receiving funds from leftist countries in Latin America.

About a third of the caravan members have dropped out already, but the remaing 4000-to-5000 continue northward.  It takes some "support" to move thousands of folks across the entire length of Mexico.

Or maybe it's just magic fairies.
