I'm just going through my first pass on my ballot, not counting the judicial retention votes, I have 18 ballot measures to vote on for city, and county issues that also include state constitutional amendments, statutory matters, and tax issues.
So far I've selected a Democrat incumbent as the House Representative, not a big fan, and I do like the Republican small business owner running, he's not MAGA. The problem is if Trump wins the Republicans tend to turn MAGA when they get to D.C. So unfortunately I have to vote Dem for national races.
I voted for a Dem for State Senator, I wanted to vote for the Republican, but what made me go for the Dem is that on his local newspaper Q&A he said he would try to appeal the $0.10 plastic bag fee that was passed two years ago to bring down prices. Small thinking in my opinion.
For State Representative I went with the Republican, he is moderate and we need a balance in the state legislature, I just wish I had more qualified Republicans to vote for.
I also voted for Harris/Walz.
Now I get to research the 18 state, county, and local measures over the next few weeks and decide how I want to vote, several of them I already had made a decision. Other I need to look at, I'm so glad I'm not standing in line on a Tuesday and then walking into a booth forced to make a snap decision.
