I'm just going through my first pass on my ballot, not counting the judicial retention votes, I have 18 ballot measures to vote on for city, and county issues that also include state constitutional amendments, statutory matters, and tax issues.
So far I've selected a Democrat incumbent as the House Representative, not a big fan, and I do like the Republican small business owner running, he's not MAGA. The problem is if Trump wins the Republicans tend to turn MAGA when they get to D.C. So unfortunately I have to vote Dem for national races.
I voted for a Dem for State Senator, I wanted to vote for the Republican, but what made me go for the Dem is that on his local newspaper Q&A he said he would try to appeal the $0.10 plastic bag fee that was passed two years ago to bring down prices. Small thinking in my opinion.
For State Representative I went with the Republican, he is moderate and we need a balance in the state legislature, I just wish I had more qualified Republicans to vote for.
I also voted for Harris/Walz.
Now I get to research the 18 state, county, and local measures over the next few weeks and decide how I want to vote, several of them I already had made a decision. Other I need to look at, I'm so glad I'm not standing in line on a Tuesday and then walking into a booth forced to make a snap decision.
Hey Max. I dropped my ballot into a drop box today as 75% of Coloradans do. I had a number of races that were unopposed. I did vote for Adam Frisch because he is a moderate Republican. In Mesa County, moderate Republicans run as Democrats. I did vote against Cody Davis for County Commissioner because the crook who built parts of my home in violation of the building code contributed the max to his campaign and has a big sign out on one of the main streets in town. I did vote for JJ Fletcher (R) for the other County Commissioner seat. He beat the incumbent who was a close ally of dropout Boobie Boebert and inmate Tina Peters. I did my research on the measures and the judges. Be careful with Amendment 80. As I have since 2004, I didn't vote for a major party candidate for President. Hope you get to Black Hawk this weekend. The drive should be nice. Take care.
