Political violence, terror, white nationalism, and fascism has become mainstream in the Republican party. How do we put a stop to it?
A few things to look at.
The recent plot that was uncovered to kidnap and assassinate the Governor of Michigan is really concerning. I note Trump tacitly endorsed these right-wing terrorists at a rally a few days ago.
The recent plot that was uncovered to overthrow the Republican governor of Ohio because he is pro-mask.
The cozy relationship between law enforcement and white nationalist militias.
The celebration of right-wing terrorists like Kyle Rittenhouse by the President, conservative politicians, and the right-wing media.
You have Governor Abbott in Texas stationing 1,000-armed national guard troops at polling places. This was right after he went to court arguing Texas didn’t have enough resources to provide more than one ballot drop box per-county.
Trump got caught hiring armed mercenaries to be “poll watchers” in Florida and Minnesota.
Many conservatives wet their panties over property damage in Minnesota during the BLM protests. Yet, since it has been discovered that the Umbrella Man and a separate boogaloo boi caused more property damage in Minnesota than BLM protesters collectively there has not been a peep out of conservatives. Why won’t conservatives condemn radical right-wing terrorism?
I note there are a lot of warnings about violence after the election. What isn’t said by these officials doing the warning, is that it is the Trump-supporting fascists that are the threat. Why won’t Republican candidates and officeholders condemn these terrorists?
IMO it is time we crack down on these nuts. Quit coddling them. If they break into government buildings while armed and chanting, they are there to execute the governor shoot them.
