How much ground does Ukraine have to surrener?

How much ground are Republicans going to surrender to Putin before they pass a funding bill ?

Only the most ignorant, foolish, shortsighted idiot would say that we shouldn't help Ukraine fend off Russia because we're not obligated to do so. Like maybe a MAGA moron who used his grade school history text as a coloring book.

I don't think that Putin will achieve total victory, but I really, really doubt that Ukraine will get its entire lost territory back, either. I expect that they'll become exhausted--financially, morally, and physically--and decide that ceding the eastern provinces might be the best way to ensure the nation's survival as an otherwise intact entity. After all, let's not forget--Kiev's control over those large Russian-minority provinces was tenuous at best before the war. It might be a bitter pill to swallow, but...

Of course, Putin is waiting to see the results of the US 2024 elections. If Trump wins AND the Republipigs grab/mantain control of one of both Houses, then it's full steam ahead--Ukraine will be crushed.

Here's one compromise that both sides would hate--which makes it pretty much the definition of a perfect compromise. Russian keeps its annexed Ukraine territories--but Ukraine gets fast-tracked full NATO membership. That would pretty much end things. Of course, it would be for them as it would be for us if we gave up Alaska and Hawaii. Not sure either side could sell it.

If Biden wins and Congress becomes Democrat-controlled, then Putin will probably look for some kind of face-saving exit.
