Yeah, but don't forget this scenario:
1. Trump realizes that he may lose the 2020 election, and that whatever shield he's had against criminal prosecution will disappear.
2. If he left office before then, President Pence would be in office for at least a short time.
3. Pence would pardon him--and a Democratic President wouldn't.
4. Therefore, Trump would pull a Nixon and resign. Then Pence would pull a Ford.
But he would still forever be disgraced and his fragile ego can't handle that.
