They don't. Why do you think they are rounding up busboys, grocery clerks, fruit pickers and other laborers when they promised they were only going after criminals? On that point alone Trump's policy is a massive failure.
Obama deported more people than Trump has. And he did it without masked thugs kidnapping people, ignoring court orders, with due process, he didn't accidentally deport people to 3rd world hell holes that didn't commit crimes, he didn't have the military occupy cites and he didn't blow through the entire DHS budget for a deportation reality show. So from a results perspective it has been an epic failure.

"Work" doesn't mean "close the border." It doesn't mean "throw out everybody with brown skin." It means "be fair and equitable."

According to govt stats there are 1.4m final deportation orders that need to be carried out, plus snither 600k criminals.
If you have a final deportation order you can be deported even if you have a job and no due process is required.
ICE agents wear masks to protect their identities and their families. ICE assaults are up 432% this year.

Why does a law enforcement officer performing his job in public need a mask? They don't. It is ridiculous reality TV theater for the Fox News crowd and it puts the ICE agents at greater risk while on the job. Obama was able to deport more people than Trump without masks.

Nicely done! I've always said that immigration reform and control is all about policy, good to see that I was right about that as well.
Quick questions though, why did you guys spend $15 billion on a border wall if all you needed to do was to pass a good immigration policy? Which brings up another question: why didn't you pass a good immigration policy during Trump's first term, when you had the majority? One last question, why do you want to spend $46 billion on more wall if the policy is so effective?

Even at that stage, stupid Tom, the law must be followed and proper procedures respected. And only those with such an order against them can be summarily scooped up and tossed out. But that's not what's happening. People who are here perfectly legally are being swept up in the ICE raids. And proper procedures, respecting the law and the rights of the accused, are not being followed or even acknowledged.
Stupid Tom reminds me of the Nazis who cheered and cheered as the Jews were brutalized, rounded up, and deported. It didn't matter to them that the Jews' rights were being violated--and it doesn't matter to Tom that immigrants' rights are being crushed now.
