The thing I have found about Facebook is that the posted videos and material come from many different and diverse sources. One has the opportunity to decide after viewing a post as to whether the material/subject makes any sense and is true. Relying on just one mind set or point of view - deemed right or wrong- is not a good thing. Having the ability to view many differing points of view is invaluable. Liars lie. That is what they do and who they are. In the end, the truth will be made known - you cannot change reality - it is what it is.
And not a single one of those "sources" is vetted or authenticated in any way. It's nothing more than people's opinions.
Not that there isn't a place for such things. But elevating that stuff to the level of "factual"? Ridiculous. And doing so because you happen to agree with an opinion that was expressed? Intellectually dishonest, at the very least.
We all have a bullshit filter, and we all disable it when something "sounds good" to us. I've learned to keep that filter in place, after learning the hard way. I can, with very little effort, find a hundred Facebook videos that totally agree with and "validate" my worldview. But that would prove nothing--intellectually, it would be empty calories. Finding out what's actually going on and amusing/gratifying myself are two entirely separate activities. That's why I try to keep them completely separate.
